Corey Hart is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer. He is known for his 1983 song Sunglasses at Night.
Corey is the son of Mina (Weber) and Bert Hart.
In a French-language interview, Corey discussed his ancestry:
On my mother’s side, Weber, my origins are Romanian Jewish, while my paternal grandfather was born in the south of Ukraine, of Jewish heritage. I have no precise information about my paternal grandmother; all I know is that she was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, and her family was probably Christian. My parents were born in Montréal; my mother, in 1924, and my father in 1920; he died in 2003. I am the youngest of five children… I think the difficult conditions of poverty in which my father grew up motivated him early to try and get out of the Jewish ghetto [in Montréal]…
Corey’s maternal grandparents were Harry Weber and Rebecca Hoffman. Rebecca was born in Iași, Romania.
